Modere’s newest product, Logiq™, is an instant pick-me-up that you mix with hot or cold water to enjoy a premium coffee experience that’s smart. It includes our own innovative TetraBlend™ which is formulated with four nootropics, which is a buzzword for supplements that support normal brain health.  But what are Nootropics?

Nootropics are most commonly known now as ‘smart drugs’, but you may also see them referred to as providing cognitive support.  These supplements help to support normal cognitive function, memory and concentration, as well as help support normal, healthy brain ageing.  Most nootropics work by affecting the neurotransmitters that send information to your brain’s nerve cells which play a very important role in your cognitive function.

Let’s look at the four nootropics in our TetraBlend™.

L-Theanine

If you’re a tea-lover yourself or know anyone who is, you probably know that a good, hot cup of tea seems to have this seemingly magical power to instil a sense of calm and help you remain alert. How is it possible that one beverage can do both, you ask? It turns out that black, green and white tea are rich sources of the antioxidant amino acid, L-Theanine, which can help to support normal feelings of relaxation without causing drowsiness and normal mood balance.  Perfect for that 3pm pick me up.

Caffeine

Who else is aching for their morning cuppa? Caffeine is a stimulant that’s naturally found in tea, coffee and cocoa. Caffeine is considered a nootropic because used in moderation it supports reaction time, alertness, memory and mood.

Bacopa monnieri

This wonderful herb has been used for thousands of years to help support normal memory and learning. Research suggests that bacopa supports normal memory and learning by its effect on the brain’s information processing. That’s why bacopa was another natural fit to include in Logiq™. Perfect for that cram before exam time!

Coffee Fruit Extract

Neurogenesis is the process where humans are constantly growing new brain cells. To produce these new brain cells we rely on a growth hormone called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Until recently, coffee beans were usually extracted from the fruit and the fleshy fruit part was thrown away. Coffee fruit is a rich source of antioxidants and it helps to support normal production of BDNF – which is exactly why it’s been included in Logiq™.

Just remember, though, you really can have too much of a good thing. Each serve of Logiq™ contains about as much caffeine as one and one third cups of coffee. That’s why it’s a good idea for healthy adults to limit caffeine from all sources when taking Logiq™ and avoid entirely if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please also avoid if you are sensitive to caffeine or have a gastric condition, and please speak to your doctor before mixing this or other caffeine supplements with prescribed medication.
