Healthy habits can sometimes be hard to start, and even harder to stick to. Personally, we find starting small can often lead to achieving big!

Getting active is no exception. Starting with realistic, achievable goals leads to a much better chance of your active changes seamlessly fitting into your day-to-day routine, which can then pave the way to bigger challenges and goals.
Below is a list of some of our favourite simple ways you can start your active journey to a happier, healthier you – no gym, weights or personal trainers required!

  • Grab the leash and take your four-legged friend out for a walk, we know they’ll love you for it!
  • Take the stairs. Not only is this option better for your health, but you can find joy in knowing you’re reducing your carbon footprint – one elevator ride at a time!
  • Explore your local national park. With our busy day-to-day lives it’s easy to forget how much nature there is at our finger tips.
  • Make the most of the beautiful summer weather and hit the beach! You can choose from a stroll or go for a dip! Both options will leave you feeling invigorated!
  • Choose the furthest away car park. Not only does this reduce that ‘carpark crazy’ stress we can find ourselves feeling when we head to the shops, but it’s an easy way to get a few extra steps into your day.
  • Yoga. This low impact, calming exercise can be as challenging as you desire.
  • Turn your next coffee date into a walking one! Use this as an opportunity to explore a new neighbourhood, who knows, you might stumble across your new go-to coffee spot!
  • Having a picnic in the park? Why not bring a frisbee, a ball or some rackets?
  • Join a social sport team and get a hit of socialising all while getting your blood pumping. Nothing says a good workout when you’re too busy talking to know you’ve had one!

When you start to look for them, you’ll begin to see endless opportunities to add a bit of active into your day to day life, and before you know it you’ll be looking to take on more of a challenge!
